In the next few months, we will begin sending the Newsletter electronically. Members who do not have computer access may pick up a printed copy at the Guild meeting or, failing that, we will mail them a copy. If you wish to have your Newsletter sent electronically please send any changes to your email address to rrqscoops@hotmail.com. A copy of the Newsletter will also be available on the web site.
Jane Johnson, our Librarian, has asked that you please return or renew any book you have out for a month. We will be charging a $1.00 fine for late books. In addition, if you are finished with any copies of "Quilter's Home" magazine, please consider donating them to the library. Jane is very happy with the increased number of members borrowing books.
The Community Service Quilters meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Interested in joining the group please contact Lorraine Cahalane @rrqscoops.com. To support the cost of our Community Service group we are hoping to sell some donated small quilts at the 2010 show. Donated quilts may be given to Lorraine or Colette. In 2009 RRQ members and the Community Service Group donated 192 quilts to various community outreach programs. We have received several thank you notes for the beautiful quilts. Thank you for your time and generosity.
If you are interested in cutting or making pillowcases for ConKerr Cancer at home please contact Francine Yamello at rrqprojectpillowcase@hotmail.com . She is also taking cash donations to pay for fabric for this worthy project. The group also needs unused quart size zip lock plastic bags as each pillowcase must have it's own bag. Fabric donations are also welcome. In 2010 we donated a total of 2002 pillowcases to ConKerr Cancer, Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch and K. Hovanian Children's Hospital located at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey.
Scrappy Wednesdays Group which meets on the second Wednesday of the month in the Annex will now be under the direction of Libby Schoenewolf. Quilters will learn something new each month as they will be working on a new pattern with lots of different blocks and the finished blocks will be donated to our Outreach Group.
Don't forget to pick up a copy of the new RRQ brochure. Also check changes and additions to the calendar on the Calendar page.
Don't forget to say hello to new members and visitors who will be wearing name labels and ribbons. Also don't forget to wear your own name tag or you will be fined 25 cents.
